About Amy

I've been writing about people, food, art and culture in San Diego since 2006.

My life as a freelance writer has been a wild ride so far. I'm proud to say that I've worked in three local newsrooms, written hundreds of stories that have appeared in print, online and visual formats, and now pen a weekly column for DiscoverSD, a new paper by U-T San Diego (out every Thursday).

Some of my recent past work includes Culture Buzz, where I edited and contributed stories about the arts in San Diego. Before that, I wrote about food and art for San Diego CityBeat

Writing about people is my passion. Check out the other sections of this website to read my past stories, columns and reviews.

  1. I love this city, it's a fact, it's the greatest city in the history of mankind. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diago. Which of course, in German means: a Whale's Vagina.
